Confirmed and In-Progress

• Avantis Investors (Leigh): $1,500 confirmed for FPA-LA/CFA mixer. Next step: send invoice, collect marketing materials.
• Calamos (Lauren): Summit panel sponsorship locked in. Invoice sent and processing.
• Allianz (Brian): $3,000 silver panel sponsorship stalled, no response to follow-up.

Contingency and New Outreach

• Dimensional: Approach for the $3,000 panel slot as Allianz backup, based on prior expressed interest.
• JPMorgan: Targeting for panel slot or platinum-level sponsorship as secondary option.
• Bronze sponsors: List compiled, intro facilitated with help from David Tessone if needed.
• Cambria Investments: Keynote proposal submitted, forwarded to Jonathan, Uziel and Shanelle for review.

Event: Lunch and Learn at Meet on Ocean

• Date/Location: October 20, Santa Monica.
• Topic: Mindfulness in financial planning and behavioral finance.
• Format: 30 min networking, 1 hr presentation, 30 min closing networking.
• Target attendance: 20-25.

Action Items

• Send invoice and request marketing materials from Leigh at Avantis Investors (FPA-LA/CFA event).
• Reach out to Dimensional for the silver panel slot.
• Create and send bronze-level sponsor outreach email for Summit.
• Contact JPMorgan re: panel or platinum sponsorship.

Advocacy

• Update on SB 1147 - Expired and did not pass
  • SB 1147 has expired for the current session. The bill to change the one semester personal finance requirement and loosen criteria
  • FPA of California submitted letters of opposition, and attended the Committee Meeting in person
• CAL Savers Program
  • Partnership in progress to provide statewide pro bono opportunities to FPA planners statewide
  • Planning to launch a test program in late July to gauge the need and demand

• Fire Survivor Events:
  • Upcoming: Altadena Fires Survivor Event - Saturday, August 8th - The Collaboratory. 9 am - 2:30 pm
    • Larger Event: Looking for 10-15 Volunteers to participate

New Professionals/NexGen

• Hiking event happening this Wednesday - 8 attendees
• August study group - discuss books for young professionals. Would love to get input from board

• Student Ambassador Program - We will be trying to host an in person coffee networking event. Working with committee to finalize details
